Cradle Hold – Newborn to six months
  • Open pouch.
  • Insert baby's legs and bottom into center of pouch.
  • Lower baby’s upper body into pouch ensuring fabric is pulled up against your body on the inside.
  • Ensure support behind head- add blanket if necessary up to 8 weeks old. Tighten upper fabric through rings to adjust.
  • Alternative: Put the sling on backwards (tail to your back) for added head support (not shown).

Cuddle Hold – Newborn to six months
  • Tighten upper fabric so there is no more than 6-8 inches space between you and sling.
  • Hold baby in an upright position.
  • Insert baby’s legs through the entire sling.
  • Baby’s bottom will rest on lower fabric of the sling- as a shelf- ensure it is not too loose. Adjust if need be.
  • Baby’s bottom should be lower than their knees. Fabric should support head and neck securely.

Horizontal Hold Newborn to 3 months
  • Repeat steps of Cradle Hold
  • Note: Baby is placed in sling in the opposite direction- away from rings

  • Baby will be lying down.

Hip Hold
  • While seated, place one arm through the sling and pass it over your head. Ensure that the rings/tail are facing down on your shoulder in the front.
  • Gather the material, and holding your baby over a shoulder, slip them through the fabric, facing inward, legs around your waist, on your hip.

  • Pull the extra material on the outside just under the baby’s bottom and the rest up along their back. Your baby should be sitting on some of the tightened lower fabric that will act as an arm and hold them up on your hip.
  • Adjust the sling using the rings to tighten the material in any direction. Tightening the upper fabric into the rings will make for a snugger straddle. Play around until you find the best fit.

Kangaroo Hold
  • While seated, place one arm through the sling and pass it over your head. Ensure that the rings/tail are facing down on your shoulder in the front.
  • Open the material and seat you infant in the middle sling seated, facing out, or to the side, legs crossed in front, or to the side.
  • Pull the extra material on the inside up against your body, and on the outside, up and around the baby to her/his chest.
  • Adjust the sling using the rings to tighten the material in any direction. Tightening the outside fabric into the rings will make for a snugger “womb”. Play around until you find the best fit.
